The Role

As a Consultant Psychologist, you will support our flagship mental health and addiction treatment services. Collaborating with operational teams and the Head of Clinical Interventions, the key objectives of this role are to:

  • Be a Mental Health lead in the organisation
  • Identify and implement areas of treatment programme improvement and development
  • Support the professional development and clinical supervision of staff to offer a blended mental health and addiction treatment service
  • Have a passionate, proactive approach - there is opportunity for significant impact and to make a real difference to the lives of people we support

Location and hours are flexible, including the option for a hybrid approach working from home and across our flagship rehabs in Derby and Oxford. Occasional travel to other services in England and Scotland will be required.


About You

To join us as Consultant Psychologist, you will need:

  • Chartered Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychologist
  • Demonstrate an interest and/or understanding of problematic substance use and associated needs
  • Understanding of intersectional barriers in accessing treatment, with high levels of personal cultural competence
  • Experience in CBT and Motivational Interviewing
  • Evidence of effective partnership working and the ability to network for the benefit of people who use services and the organisation
  • To be proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook and Word and be familiar with database management systems
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Understand multi-faceted needs of people entering residential programmes, custody, housing and community services.
