A fantastic opportunity has arisen at their Head Office in Hull (HU7) for a Learning and Development Specialist.
As a Learning and Development Specialist you will be responsible for evaluating the training needs of employee’s, reviewing current needs and practices and deliver a training development plan. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing and maintaining a skills matrix for each staff member, responsible for the development of staff both operationally and in line with individuals’ personal development plans, leading to a highly motivated and engaged workforce.
The Role:
Monitor and implement learning and development needs following analysis of skills gaps and business needs
Ensuring the timely coordination and delivery of company inductions for all new starters
Produce the overall Learning and Development plan for the site, ensuring it meets the needs of the site and is aligned with the group wide L&D plan
Delivering inhouse training sessions when required, including compliance refresher training
Managing all practical training requirements and external course bookings
Building and maintaining effective links with training providers
Maintain the Training Matrix
Coordinate internal and external activity for all site learning programmes.
To ensure systems are accurate and continuous improvement measures implemented
To support with succession planning
Work on ad hoc projects as required at both site and group level
You will be required to visit all 7 depots
Hull, Newcastle, Boston, Teesside, Grimsby, Sheffield & Rainton
The Person:
Essential:
A proven track record in the design and delivery of a blended L&D service offering learning outcomes with a tangible business impact
Naturally creative and passionate about Learning and Development, with strong communication and interpersonal skills and an enthusiastic approach
Strong influencing and negotiating skills and able to motivate and inspire diverse groups of staff
Experience of managing conflicting deadlines and priorities to meet the requirements of complex sites
Desirable:
Level 4 NVQ Diploma in L&D or equivalent work experience
Experience working in a mechanical environment desirable
