Set within the Norfolk countryside in a well-established business, Downham Home & Garden store - one of Norfolk’s largest Home & Garden Centre retailers, are currently undergoing an exciting period of growth. We are an independent, family-owned business dedicated to providing quality, fresh and seasonal food supported by a carefully selected network of suppliers across the region.

Overview....

Due to continued growth, we are looking to appoint an additional kitchen assistant to join our extraordinary team!

The new restaurant encompasses a lounge/bar area, dining area and outside dining.

This role is being offered on a flexible contract initially, and will include hours every other weekend between the hours of 8am and 5pm, Saturday and Sunday. As the restaurant grows, this role may develop into a full time permanent position for the right candidate.

What you'll be doing....

• Timely food preparation that meets the standards required of the Head Chef.
  
• Supporting the wider kitchen team
• Maintain a clean working environment
• Timely completion of hygiene records to ensure compliance with environmental health requirements
• Awareness of the need for allergy information in relation to the Restaurant’s products and assisting with ensuring all products are labeled correctly in accordance with UK law
• Referring customer complaints/faults to the Restaurant Manager
  
• Having awareness of Health and Safety to prevent any incidents/accidents
• Assisting with front-of-house duties (when required)

Skills you need.....

• Previous experience of working in a customer service-focused environment
• Previous experience of working within a similar environment
• Excellent verbal communication skills
  
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
• Good organisational skills
