We are looking for a candidate with drive and energy to become an outstanding Design Technology Teacher. This person will support the Subject Leader to meet Wellfield’s vision of high standards and academic achievement. The ideal applicant will be able to teach Resistant Materials at KS3. At Wellfield, Design Technology continues to be a popular subject and uptake at KS4 is excellent. Most class sizes are typically twenty or less. The department has excellent facilities (including a construction skills centre) and three experienced staff, able to support you.
Wellfield was judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted in June 2018.
It is proposed that Wellfield School will join New College Durham Academies Trust (NCDAT) from 1st June 2023. Therefore, the successful applicant will be appointed to the employment of the Trust.
An £8.5million refurbishment was completed in the summer of 2014, resulting in an excellent learning environment offering state of the art facilities. Situated only 8 miles to the east of Durham City the school is well located for access to the A19 and A1(M). It is also within comfortable driving distance of affordable housing and areas of outstanding natural beauty.
