Job Description

Social Worker required for work within the MASH Team based in Plymouth in Devon. Competitive rates of pay £48ph. 3 month minimum contract with opportunity to extend. Close to the beautiful beaches of South Devon with good transport links via the A38 to M5..

The team operates a county wide multi-agency approach, operating effectively and efficiently to deliver the best possible outcomes for children, young people and families.

You will be required to act quickly, in a coordinated and consistent way. So working well under pressure and to tight deadlines will be an expectation. You will have the ability to write succinct evidence based reports and present social care information and issues that can impact on the risk or needs assessment of the child/young person. This may involve disclosing proportionate and relevant information related to the parents/cares or siblings. This is a fantastic opportunity, especially for somebody who would like to step away from a case holding team and community visits.

The successful candidates will be working within the following teams:

  • Assessment team responding to all initial contacts made to the Safeguarding & Family Support Service
  • Generic Safeguarding Team provides a range of services for Child Protection and Family Support Services and including children who are looked after

The social work role in the MASH requires good IT and interpersonal skills and the ability to make sound risk assessments at the point of referral to children's social care. It would be helpful, although not essential, to have an understanding and working knowledge of Care First 6.

You will be Social Work England registered, ideally a driver with access to own car and able to reside and work in the UK

As an Eden Brown Synergy candidate, you can take advantage of our competitive service offering: * Dedicated personal and professional service. * Free DBS check. * CV review service. * Interview advice. * Competitive rates of pay. * Post-placement follow up meetings.
