The European energy space is complex and has a huge appetite for data. Power production from renewables in response to weather, capacity limitations across borders, storage optimisation modelling... these are just some of the complex data opportunities we trade on every day.

Team / department
The Data Management team is part of the Data Department which works very closely with the Front Office and is the center of master data management, data quality and control and it has direct responsibility over the development and maintenance of EDF Trading’s data assets.
Position purpose
The Market Data Analyst will provide services towards invoice reconciliation and cost-control, market data inventory system management, enabling user permissions, terminal management and usage declarations.
You will also have regular interactions with market data vendors and will be required to support the Data Management team on project where links between the datasets and the services subscribed from the vendors.
This is a vital role that supports in providing clarity and upkeep of what market data services are being used at EDF Trading and by whom.
Main responsibilities
- Manage market data invoices – reconcile against the inventory, process invoices, create purchase orders, one off purchases, price corrections, price changes, reviewing credit notes, calculate recharge split across the company, investigate and challenge any discrepancies, all whilst maintaining a strong relationship with internal and external finance teams.
- Management and upkeep of market data inventory system, Optimize Spend by TRG (vendor, service, users, deletions, costs, changes, etc.), monthly upload of HR file, Bloomberg uploads.
- Create reports, dashboards and visualisations to answer critical subscription management questions and provide market data management reporting.
- Bloomberg and Refinitiv Eikon admin management and B-Unit distribution.
- Per-missioning and de-activating subscription services of joiners, leavers and transfers.
- Maintain the data invoices and data requests mailboxes.
- Monitor all requests received through the mailbox and other channels in the requests tracker, aiming to meet the defined SLAs.
- Ensure the most updated data agreements are correctly stored in the right folder.
- Liaise with the legal team for the review of contracts’ T&Cs and signature, as well as to get legal opinion on requests, e.g. web scraping.
- Update the Standard Operating Procedure documents, in order to keep the team’s processes documentation up to date.
- Support the business with any non-technical data queries or contract queries.
- Submit the vendors’ Monthly and Quarterly usage declarations.
- Define access controls based on the restrictions in the vendors’ contracts.
- Support the new vendor onboarding process along with conducting any due-diligence when required.
- Support the team in the commercial negotiations and contract review, including first review of T&Cs before sharing with the legal team.

Desired Skills and Experience
- Minimum 2-years of relevant market data experience within financial services or a regulated environment.
- Knowledge of market data vendor landscape such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv, S&P Platts, ICE Data Services, Argus, etc.
- Familiarity with TRG’s Optimize Spend (preferred) or MDSL’s MDM would be beneficial.
- Experience of using Workday or any other invoicing platform (e.g. Concur).
- Strong MS-office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Takes ownership of any escalations and facilitates their resolution using their own initiative whilst managing internal expectations & providing effective communication.
- Comfortable interacting with all teams of all levels, building a rapport and representing the Market Data Commercial Team internally and externally.
- Demonstrates passion, enthusiasm, ‘can do’ attitude, ability to work independently and self-prioritise, a willingness to learn and make the role your own.
