Are you an Early Years Teacher or Teaching Assistant looking for a career change, but want to stay in education?

Do you hold an early years/childcare degree or have previously managed a nursery?

If the answer is yes to those questions then we may have an exciting opportunity for you to use those skills to tutor the next generation of educators.

We are looking for an Early Years and Teaching Assistant Apprencticeship Tutor in the Herts and North London area.

You will deliver the Childcare and Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship to a cohort of learners. As a teacher, assessing learners is part of your everyday job, so transitioning into this role should be straight forward. Full training will be provided and you will need to undertake an assessor qualification. If successful this will be provided at no cost.

Key details and requirements

  • This is a full time permanent contract.
  • Home based working with regional travel to meet with learners in their workplace (nursery/school).
  • You need to be a qualified teacher with an early years degree or have previously managed a nursery. You could also be a Level 3 TA with the same early years experience/qualifications.
  • You must have or be willing to undertake a Level 3 Assessor qualification (we can provide this and will give you more details when we contact you).
  • You will need your own car.

Duties of this role:

  • Deliver Childcare / Teaching Assistant (Apprenticeship funded) Training up to level 5
  • Conduct study group and 1-1 sessions with learners undertaking the qualifications, leading informal discussions and exploration of latest leadership trends and sharing experiences.
  • Record professional discussions on specific units / topics based on knowledge, independent research and reflective accounts.
  • Visiting/observing learners in their place of work every 4 weeks to gather quality evidence towards their qualifications.
  • Using e-portfolio (Onefile) systems effectively to record progress and achievement.
  • Managing your diary efficiently to ensure timely visits and reviews are conducted.
  • Organise and maintain documentation on learners' progress.
  • Support, advise and motivate learners.
  • Work to strict completion timescales.

Salary: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
