Harmony Residential Homes Ltd is hiring for our Therapeutic Children's Residential Home for children with EBD in the Tiptree area of Colchester. We are recruiting for a highly motivated experience passionate Registered Manager. You may be a Deputy Manager looking for your next career move or you may be an looking for your next challenge.

Harmony is a family run organisation, operating under the PACE Therapeutic Model to support our children. Our Tiptree home is 5 bedded, looking after children from 7 to 18 years with emotional challenging behaviours.

As the Registered Manager you will be responsible for the daily running of the Home, including staff management, budgets, and ensuring that a high standard of care is maintained at all times with the support of a Deputy Manager.

The Registered Home Manager will be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children, ensuring that the quality of care provided is consistent in line with company and Ofsted standards. The Registered Home Manager will be a confident leader and will lead from the front in building a competent, motivated staff team. They should be able to identify any areas of concern in relation to child protection and should be experienced in liaising with local authorities, schools and external health professionals.

The Registered Home Manager will ensure that each child within their care, receives a personalised care plan in line with their education, social, emotional and cultural needs. They will also work with various professionals in ensuring that each child develops to their full potential. Furthermore, The Registered Manager will take the lead in recruitment, training and inducting new staff members.

Candidates wishing to apply for The Registered Home Manager role, you will need to have an NVQ Level 5 in children & young people or working towards the qualification, Excellent knowledge of care standards, including child protection and demonstrable experience of managing a similar service supporting children with EBD.

In return you will receive ongoing training and support. The successful Registered Home Manager will also receive a salary depending on experience, as well as annual performance related bonus’.

The recruitment process aims to create and maintain a safe workforce and contains robust vetting procedures. The successful applicants will be appointed subject to references and enhanced DBS check.

Practical experience working with the EBD as well as an understanding of therapeutic care is what we are looking for in the ideal applicant as well as: -

  • NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Residential childcare or working towards
  • A full UK Driving License
  • Minimum 3 years managing or deputising an EBD Residential Children's Home
  • A good stable work history
  • Up to date working knowledge of Ofsted regulations

Your responsibilities will be;

Line Manage all staff in your provision

Oversee care delivery in line with the homes policies and procedures

Report to the Director.

Be the leading professional for Safeguarding

Plan and implement actions to bring 'Outstanding' Ofsted inspections

Provide accurate monthly and annual budget reports

To manage service development planning, costing and preparation

To be a lead in respect of the recruitment, selection and retention of staff for which the post holder is responsible, ensuring recruitment follows safer recruitment guidelines.

Promote the highest standard of professional conduct through modelling outstanding practice, ensuring confidentiality, equality and respect to all staff.

Responsible for recruitment of staffing team.

Organize the rota.

Maintain the homes budget.

To promote equality, diversity, rights and responsibilities of all children and young people and staff

On-call duties will be part of your remit.
